John K. Carey serves as the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer at OneSeven, bringing over two decades of experience in the financial services industry. Since starting his career in 2004, John has developed a deep understanding of regulatory compliance and fiduciary standards, with a particular focus on supporting advisory firms as they grow responsibly and sustainably.
He holds an MBA from Babson College and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Western Governor’s University. John is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®), maintains a Series 66 license, and is committed to upholding the highest standards of client care and ethical practice.
At OneSeven, John plays a key role in overseeing the firm’s compliance program, ensuring that advisors and teams are equipped with the knowledge and tools they need to navigate a complex regulatory environment with confidence.
Outside of work, John’s greatest passion is music—whether he’s playing guitar, hunting down rare vinyl records, or supporting live acts, rhythm drives everything he does. He lives in the Boston area with his wonderful wife, Libby, and their two children, Finola and Gavin. Together, they enjoy long hikes, cooking as a family, and movie nights at home.
