Co-Founder, Chairman, and CEO

Jerry Garcia is the Co-founder, Chairman, and CEO of Alta Vera Global Capital Advisors, based in Miami, Florida.

With nearly 30 years of experience in the investment management industry, Jerry has held leadership roles across client management, product development, and business development. Prior to co-founding Alta Vera, he was a Partner and Head of Latin America Wealth Management at Azura, and previously served as a Managing Director and Market Manager for the Central and South America region at J.P. Morgan Private Bank. There, he led an integrated team of specialists advising ultra-high-net-worth families and overseeing more than $75 billion in client assets.

In 2002 and 2003, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg appointed Jerry to the New York City Charter Revision Commission. He also served on the Board of Trustees for The Brooklyn Public Library, where he chaired both the Finance and Investment Committees.  Additionally, he previously served on the Board of Directors for New Visions for Public Schools, the largest education reform organization in New York City, and Children’s Rights, a national advocacy group protecting abused and neglected children.

Jerry holds an M.B.A. from Columbia University and a B.A. from the City University of New York.

Jerry is married with three children and lives in Key Biscayne, FL. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, boating, and spending time with his rescue dog, Theo.
